Project SHEA

We challenge todayโ€™s design approach for a sustainable, safe and more responsible world. A collective effort of society as a whole is required to deliver this vision. The stakeholders we involve have varying backgrounds that uphold strong values of sustainability in everyday actions and imbibe the philosophy of PEOPLE & PLANET over PROFIT.

Imagine

Microcycles and renewable energy

In the future, renewable energy will take precedence over conventional energy production.

On-site and on demand generation of energy provides accessibility to everyone, at any time across the globe. Majority of energy generated will be renewable and off-grid.

Sustainable circular economy

A precinct can generate all its energy needs from various sources, freeing cities and individuals away from energy dependencies.

People are becoming free from various kinds of grids such as water, electricity and waste management. Land utilisation will be increased and cities will be more decentralised.

Climate control

Climate control without using huge energy sources to be sustainable for the cities, districts and households.

A comfortable living environment is a basic right for everyone.

Affordable housing, building materials, sharing economy, zero marginal cost society

Housing cost can be reduced drastically by building technology, design and sharing economy / business models.

Affordable housing can be made available for everyone based on their needs and life stage.

Sharing economy, building technology, future of work, living and play

Spaces and buildings will adapt and morph according to the resident’s needs, reducing unutilised spaces and increasing convenience.

Flexible housing based on the needs of the individual, family and community.

Movable and modularised

Modularised movable units and rooms will be common denominators for the future city to keep the city updated and agile.

With non-flexible parts of the living environment minimised, cities have the agility to update and adapt to dynamic changes in society.

Urban green to support local communities

Nature will be sprawling among future cities as urban green parks are designed and engineered for functionality as well as for beauty.

Nature/Green in city design will be more cooperative than competing, more co-existing than separation. Farming will be a part of daily lives and people will feel a part of nature always.

Waste management, microcycles and energy harvesting

In the future, technologies will be able to extract value from waste and convert it into highly innovative by-products. Waste can be converted into energy to power everything that requires electricity. The concept of waste will diminish as everything can become a resource for something.

Self-sufficient (energies and water) and self-recycle/reuse ratios will be essential measurements in the design of future cities/districts with behavioural changes of citizens and people driving it.
